Ivan Vidić (1966) is one of Croatia’s most intriguing contemporary playwrights. He began writing plays early on as a student of Dramaturgy at the Academy of Dramatic Arts in Zagreb. Since 1991, his plays have been performed in several Croatian and foreign theatres (Zagreb Youth Theatre, ITD Theatre, Gavella Drama Theatre, Croatian National Theatre Ivan pl. Zajc in Rijeka, Croatian National Theatre in Zagreb, Gate Theatre – London). Although several of his plays had been published in various magazines throughout the years, this is the first hardcover edition of his selected plays written between 1987 and 2001. The book features the plays Harpa, Travellers (Putnici), Fever (Groznica), The Big Tilda (Velika Tilda), Measles (Ospice), Grandma’s Heart (Bakino srce) and Octopussy. The afterword was written by dr. Vjeran Zuppa.
